Good is the enemy of great.
The Recipe

An athlete may have all the physical attributes needed to be very successful in their sport, but if they have poor spacial awareness and body control, there will be energy leaks & wasted movement, neither of which are conducive to winning!

At high levels of sport, high speeds, high contact time, long distances, etc., we are asking a lot out of the body. Many times coaches/athletes can get too focused on production and neglect our ability to capture and manage these forces. Building connective tissue capacity and elasticity is imperative for gaining full access to attributes like speed, acceleration, endurance, and overall athleticism.

Elite sport performance can be simple. Consistently produce higher amounts of force than your opponent. More force into the turf, water, court, track, trails, etc,. gives you a significantly greater advantage. Key word: consistently. To be a top performer in your field, you must learn how to produce more force from the ground up, then translate that to sport specific movements. That’s the part that takes years worth of practice. But at the end of the day, it all comes down to force production.
If you haven’t been there, it’s hard to know how to get there.
